Smoothies are one of my go-to breakfasts anytime – they only require a few ingredients and are so fast to make. So when I started touring with Newsies, I knew smoothies would be great on the road as well.
Here are some of my hacks for making smoothies in a hotel room:
- Magic Bullet Mini, High Speed Blender and Mixer – I love this blender because it’s in a mini size which means extra room in your luggage. I originally tried the NutriBullet but it’s much larger. This one is the perfect size.
- Protein Powder – This can be a little trickier to travel. If it’s a short trip, portion it out into a plastic bag (double bag it) but if it’s a longer trip, you might want to get a protein powder that comes in a bag, rather than a plastic container as it’ll mold better in your suitcase. Just double or triple bag it – you don’t want the powder to leak everywhere!
- Always request a fridge. This way you can keep any almond milk, frozen fruit, etc. cold. If a fridge isn’t an option, you can buy single serving almond milk and use one for each smoothie.
